The Childbearing Year | Female Wellness

Sessions For The Childbearing Year

Stage 1 - Fertility
During this stage of your unique Childbearing Year, massage therapy sessions focus on relieving stress and tension brought on by the overwhelming feelings that sometimes accompany conceiving a child. Here, you are offered the space to nurture yourself and reproductive organs, along with exploring lifestyle or emotional issues that might be holding you back from conception. Sessions focused on promoting optimal chance for conception include acupressure, craniosacral, reflexology, visualization, pelivc work, and more.

Stage 2 - Pregnancy
This is a time of transition. Significant physical changes occur in the body and many women experience great shifts, both emotionally and spiritually. It is vital to take time for yourself now, before your baby arrives, to integrate the changes occurring and prevent feeling overwhelmed or anxious. Sessions offer skilled, safe, and nurturing touch, and include plenty of hip, lower back, and shoulder work. Physical benefits include an ease of aches, pains and the strain on joints, along with reduced swelling and a lowering of blood pressure.

Stage 3 - Labor and Birth
Sometimes the baby doesn't arrive as planned. Sessions for labor induction or turning a breech-baby include acupressure, visualization, and stress-relief techniques. Massage during birth eases pain during contractions and nurtures the mother in between.

Stage 4 - Postpartum
The "fourth trimester" is a time of recovering, healing and bonding with your new family. Sessions focus on rehabilitating the abdominal skin, muscles, and organs, encouraging greater structural alignment. Receiving massage during this time when you are giving 110% facilitates a smooth period of emotional, physiological, and family adjustments. When you are able to take care of yourself, you can be a much better caretaker of others.
